<p>Ballard was founded in 1979, and by the early 1990s established itself as a premier global PEM stack producer. Since then the company set up technology and marketing partnerships with global giants in the transport, power generation and portable power markets. These companies include DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Alstom, GPU, Ebara, Coleman Power. Ballard is developing and bringing to market Ballard® fuel cell systems for transportation, stationary and portable applications. </p> <p>Ballard offers key subsystems and components that support Ballard® fuel cell products. These include fuel cell engines, electric drive systems, power conversion equipment, fuel cell power generation equipment, and friction and gas diffusion layer materials.</p> <p>As of 1st of September 2005, Ballard Power Systems AG is operating as NuCellSys GmbH. DaimlerChrysler and Ford Motor Company took over the fuel cell system business from Canadian Ballard Power Systems Inc., each holding a 50 percent share. |
