<p>The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft carries out contract research in all fields of the engineering sciences and has a multitude of institutes located across Germany. Among them, the Institute for Solar Energy (ISE) concentrates its services in five business sectors.</p> <ul> <li>Buildings and technical building components</li> <li>Solar cells</li> <li>Off-grid power supplies</li> <li>Grid-connected renewable power generation</li> <li>Hydrogen technology</li> </ul> <p> <p>In the Hydrogen Technology business area we research innovative technologies for the production of hydrogen as well as for the conversion of hydrogen into electricity. In co-operation with our partners in the fields of industry and research, we develop entire hydrogen systems as well as single components for hydrogen production by water electrolysis and catalytic reforming of hydrogen-rich fuels. </p> <p>In our developments we work closely together with the areas of business Buildings and Technical Building Components, Off-grid Power Supplies as well as Decentralised Power Supply and Storage in the Grid.</p> <p>In addition, for the low-power range we develop high-performance energy converters based on promising fuels as an alternative or complement to disposable or rechargeable batteries.</p> <p> |
